BeyHive reacts to Diana Ross singing ‘Happy Birthday’ to Beyoncé during her show in LA – Orange County Register

Whether you were one of 70,000 lucky enough to get a ticket or were watching live streams from home, Beyoncé’s birthday show was a night to remember. The R&B singer returned to SoFi Stadium for her third and final concert of the Renaissance World Tour in Inglewood on Monday, Sept. 4.

Fans were in awe as Diana Ross took to the stage to perform her song “Love Hangover” during the interlude before part two of the ANOINTED section of the show. The song is typically performed each night by backup singers.

After the guest performance, Beyoncé ran across the stage to join Ross, where she could be seen telling Ross “I love you so much” before sharing a hug.

The “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” singer then asked the crowd turn their phone lights on before having everyone join her in singing “Happy Birthday to You” to Beyoncé.

Before Ross left, Beyoncé took a moment to give her gratitude to the famed singer, saying: “Thank you so much for all your sacrifice, and your beauty and grace. Thank you for opening the doors for me.”

Earlier today it was reported by Extra that Ross would be singing happy birthday to Beyoncé during her Renaissance tour at SoFi Stadium.

Those in the BeyHive might remember in 2019 Beyoncé sang “Happy Birthday” to Ross for her 75th birthday in Los Angeles per the request of Ross’ daughter, and Black-ish star, Tracee Ellis Ross.

But Ross wasn’t the only surprise Beyoncé had in store.

Compton native Kendrick Lamar joined Queen Bey on stage to perform “America has a Problem.” Unfortunately, his microphone appeared to have technical difficulties during the performance.

While the star-studded guest appearances were definitely a highlight of the night, there were other moments that made #BEYDAYLA memorable.

Angelenos took hosting Beyoncé’s birthday show seriously and had fans bring black and yellow balloons.

At the beginning of her birthday show, Beyoncé also took a moment to share what she was thankful for, shouting out her Destiny’s Child bandmates: “I’m thankful for Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams, LeToya Luckett, and LaTavia Roberson.”

Before the concert began, some eagle eyed fans spotted Beyoncé’s crew wearing chrome birthday hats.

Later on in the show, when Beyoncé took the stage during the ANOINTED section of the set, she and a few of her dancers were wearing the same chrome birthday hats.

Beyoncé also sold an exclusive shirt for the final SoFi Stadium show, which sold out within hours.

Prior to her Inglewood shows, the “Crazy in Love” singer had asked attendees to wear silver to the concerts from Aug. 23 to Sept. 22 in honor of Virgo season hoping the crowd would become a “shimmering human disco ball each night. Everybody mirroring each other’s joy.”

The icing on the cake for the evening was when it came to the “everybody on mute” challenge for the song “Energy,” which this crowd delivered.
